CJ Stewart’s Westside Atlanta Run Club
Where running meets history, culture, and purpose.
CJ Stewart is a native of Atlanta, born and raised in the Bankhead community. His running journey began on February 23, 2020, in response to the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, running became a way for him to regulate mentally, emotionally, and spiritually during a time of uncertainty.
That same year, he committed to running the Peachtree Road Race and is now preparing to run his sixth consecutive race on July 4, 2026. Along his journey, CJ completed the Triple Peach in 2024 and the Ultimate Peach in 2025, which included finishing his first marathon at the Publix Atlanta Marathon on March 1, 2026.
CJ now lives back in the Bankhead community with his wife, Kelli Stewart, and their family, where his passion for running continues to grow.
THE PURPOSE
This run club is about more than running.
It is about connection, awareness, and community. Participants will:
- Experience the culture of Westside Atlanta
- Learn the history that shaped the community
- See the challenges and opportunities firsthand
- Build relationships through movement
THE EXPERIENCE
This run club was inspired by CJ running through the community with his oldest daughter, Mackenzi. What started as personal reflection has grown into a shared experience for others.
All paces are welcome, including walkers. Whether you are a seasoned runner or just getting started, there is a place for you.
